OPTOMORPHISME: What is it?
A search for meaning fed by an aesthetic approach to a harmonious reconciliation between pleasure and the need to wear glasses. A true professional ethic of opticians associated with rigour, opposed to the Facialist approach designed by the world of Hairdressing, which emphasises the emotional
Although in a first traditional approach, the frame is used to balance the facial lines towards “Oval Cannon”, it can also have the opposite effect, highlighting the anatomical features of the face.
The idea being to do things “consciously”
On a practical level, the frame will form part of a frame of reference: our “golden rectangle”, which defines the frame’s hosting structure.
The upper part of this rectangle is the mirror of the upper face, while the lower part acts as a mirror of the lower face.
Thus, when compared with the referent Oval, on the forehead we find a lack of face width, the provision of compensatory material which is placed on the top of the frame will expand this morphological narrowness.
Also it is on the lower part of the frame that we set our compensation, if we find there is a lack of width at the level of the chin.
It is important to keep in mind that each characteristic parameter of the face will have a key role to play in the design of the frame.
That is why the simultaneous consideration of all these variables is essential.
Because we recognise 7 basic face shapes, with very different pupillary distance and we must respect brows and cheekbones, nose shape and skin colour etc.
EACH FACE is a SPECIFIC PROBLEM, and should be treated as such…
It is far from cosmetology.
And what are the benefits?
Because aesthetic research is done in full awareness of why these choices are made, the scenarios below illustrate the interaction that may occur between the aesthetic benefit and the accuracy of choice of the correction, which maintains a real Winner-Winner relationship between the Optician and their Client.

Claude GUERIN? He is a true artist in his field and the effectiveness of his Optomorphiste concept is proof of this
When I think that at my age (82 YEARS) and with my white hair, he encouraged me to wear red frames!!! It's pure happiness, they make me look good, and my family give me lots of compliments
The boldness when giving advice was perfect for me with my curly hair and my face type; this encouraged me to make choices I would never have dared to make alone: very bold, but never vulgar, fully integrated
